Annual Family/Kids Christmas Party Date

The date has been set for the Annual Family Christmas Party.  The Big Guy (SANTA) will be making a stop at the Local #10 Union Hall on Saturday December 6, 2014 between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.  Parents should bring one (1) gift per child, value not to exceed $25.00.  The gift should be wrapped, marked with your child's name from SANTA.

APWU: COLA Increase
09/02/14 - Queens Area Local AMERICAN POSTAL WORKERS UNION AFL-CIO
APWU members will receive a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) of $686 per year in September 2014, in accordance with the 2010-2015 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The raise is the result of an increase in the consumer price index (CPI-W). It is the sixth COLA under the contract. The effective date is Sept. 6, 2014 (Pay Period 20-2014, Pay Date Sept. 26, 2014).

Local 162 Members Celebrate Labor Day

Teamsters Local 162 members and their families were welcomed to a Labor Day picnic and celebration at Portland's Oaks Park.  Thousands of Union members from throughout the Portland area joined in the festivities.  There were Teamsters, Machinists, Plumbers, Electricians, Painters, Iron Workers, Food and Commerical Workers, Public Employee Unions and many more. Governor Kitzhaber attended the Labor Day picnic, as did U.S. Senators Wyden and Merkley.

On Friday, August 29th, drivers and monitors at First Student, Crest Hill ratified a new 5-year agreement by an over 2-1 margin. The new collective bargaining agreement includes yearly pay increases for each step, with senior drivers making over $20.00 per hour in the last year of the contract.
